Course Learning Outcomes
Students are able to explain concepts of pattern recognition and techniques of several classifiers.
Students are able to apply several classifiers for handling problems by using tools for pattern recognition.
Students are able to explain and propose a method for developing computer innovation by applying concepts of pattern recognition, as well as be able to present their idea in an oral form.
Students demonstrate their behavior in professional ethics, discipline, punctuality, as well as being responsible for themselves and society.
Course Descriptions
Overview of pattern recognition, pattern representation, nearest neighbour algorithms, Bayes classifiers, decision trees, neural networks and support vector machines and class imbalance problem.
